individuals and institutions to recognize and apply the
gospel of grace,
building
stronger families and communities.
The gospel of grace is the good news
of all that God has and will do for us in Christ; by his
grace, through his Spirit, in his time, for his glory.
By his grace we are given a new identity in Christ and
empowered to live out that identity in our daily lives.
By his grace we have our deepest personal needs
satisfied so that we may truly love others.
Because
of the gospel of grace we believe:
1.
Each member of the
body of Christ is worthy of love and respect and has a
vital function to perform for the benefit of all.
2.
Loving others like Christ is the “critical
event” and must take priority over all programs and
activities of the church.
3.
The primary function of leadership is to prepare
the members of the body to express the love of Christ at
home, on the job or in school, in the community, and in
the church.
Alpha Ministries is comprised of
people who understand their new identity in Christ and
are, therefore, able to actually care about the needs of
others in a variety of ways. They are dedicated to
living out the gospel of grace in their own families at
home. They are able to apply that same gospel to others
on their jobs or in their schools. They are able to
impact other community organizations with the gospel of
grace through personal involvement and relational
ministry. In short, the people of Alpha Ministries are
spiritual and practical rather than religious and
artificial.
Training offered by Alpha
Ministries is motivated by a genuine desire to help
others learn and live the gospel of grace. All
ministries are viewed as a means of helping the curious
learners become convinced of the truth and the convinced
to become committed to sharing that truth with
others. Success of any program or activity is measured
by whether or not others were encouraged, enlightened,
and empowered. Those serving in the various ministries
are motivated by faith, hope, and love rather than fear,
guilt, or pride.
The impact of Alpha Ministries is
felt on many levels. Because we all struggle with life
controlling issues, Alpha Ministries provides genuine
strength and recovery through application of the gospel
of grace. For those who are weary of “trying hard to be
a good Christian”, Alpha Ministries offers God’s Sabbath
rest to the soul bringing relief 24 hours a day 7 days a
week. For those seeking to find meaning and purpose in
life, Alpha Ministries offers service opportunities with
eternal significance. Finally, Alpha Ministries is
continually seeking to better our communities through
coalition building activities that stimulate
partnerships with other social service agencies. Our
ultimate goal is to strengthen individuals, families,
the church, and our community with the gospel of grace.
